Therapy rooted in relationship
This is a place for you to be seen, understood, and deeply cared for. Throughout the process we’ll work collaboratively and use tools that make sense for you- which may involve talk therapy, creative exploration, somatic therapy, or a combination of different approaches.
Trauma-informed care is at the center of my practice. I began my career in domestic violence services, which had a formative impact on my approach to trauma treatment. I later joined a group practice that used play and creative arts therapy for children and families. While there, I worked as an in-home and outpatient therapist for children ages two and older, teens, and adults. I also received training in play therapy under a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor (RPT-S). After returning to the Pacific Northwest I pivoted to a group practice treating a range of different clients. I started my own practice out of a desire to provide creative, person-centered care.
In treating trauma, I start by helping clients establish a sense of safety. From there, treatment often involves:
working together to explore how past experiences affect current struggles.
using body-centered interventions, acknowledging that trauma is held in the body.
focusing on nervous-system regulation to help you feel more grounded and at peace.
empowering you to tap into your strengths.
Working with clients of all ages has taught me that there are common threads between people— young children to adults, from differing backgrounds and cultures— and the struggles we walk with. I believe that in healing parts of ourselves, we bring healing to our families, our communities, and ultimately, to our world.
